Toms River Man Arrested For Eluding: Lakewood Police
A 21-year-old Toms River man was arrested and charged following an eluding investigation in Lakewood, authorities announced Monday, May 18. The incident occurred on Monday, May 4, authorities said. Officers took Nicholas Ratajczak into custody and charged him with eluding and several other multiple vehicle violations, Lakewood police said. A second person was also identified during the course of the investigation and was issued multiple motor vehicle summonses related to the incident, police said.

Jackson Teen Kills Grandmother In Local Home: Prosecutor
An 18-year-old Jackson Township man is accused of stabbing his grandmother to death inside their home Monday morning, May 18, authorities said. Louis Brown was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the death of 69-year-old Darlene Brown, both of Jackson Township, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Five members of a drug trafficking organization that sold drugs in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia were arrested and charged last week, authorities said. The arrests came after a lengthy wiretap investigation conducted by a drug enforcement task force and New Jersey State Police’s Gangs and Organized Crime South Unit, U.S. Attorney Robert Frazier said. Ketamine Gets Driver Arrested: Stafford PD
A 57-year-old Manahawkin woman was arrested and charged with possessing ketamine, authorities announced. At 2:57 a.m. on Friday, May 8, officers conducted a motor vehicle stop near East Bay Avenue and Parker Street and determined the driver, Kimberly Strahle was in possession of drugs, Stafford Township police said. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of ketamine which Strahle did not have a valid prescription for, police said. Strahle was charged with one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, police said.

Woman, 27, Killed When Pickup Bursts Into Flames On Garden State Parkway
A 27-year-old Long Branch woman was killed after a pickup truck crashed, overturned, and caught fire on the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls early Sunday morning, May 17, authorities said. A vehicle linked to a Jersey City carjacking crashed near the Glen Ridge Eco-Fair Saturday morning, sending suspects running through the area before one man was captured, authorities said. A 78-year-old Atlantic Highlands man admitted to stealing thousands of dollars from a Roman Catholic church where he served as an officer, authorities announced Friday, May 15. Joseph Manzi pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking and filing a fraudulent tax return, Attorney General Jennifer Davenport said.
