Albany Empire Dropped By NAL After Owner Antonio Brown Refuses To Pay League Dues The National Arena League (NAL) has officially cut ties with the Albany Empire over owner Antonio Brown’s refusal to pay his required league fees. It followed an emergency conference call on Thursday, June 15, the league said in a statement. “After exhausting all avenues, the NAL board of owners have decided unanimously to terminate the membership agreement of the Albany Empire,” reads the statement. Water Rescue: Driver Pulled To Safety After Car Ends Up Submerged Off Long Island A driver escaped with just minor injuries thanks to a quick-thinking police officer and firefighter after his car ended up in the water off Long Island. Capital Region Man Strangled Wife To Death, Jury Finds More than two years after a woman from the region was strangled to death, her husband has been convicted of her murder. A Rensselaer County jury found 37-year-old Taquan Evans, of Troy, guilty of second-degree murder on May 24, in the death of his wife Georlasia Evans. The Rensselaer County DA’s Office announced the verdict on Wednesday, June 14. According to prosecutors, Evans strangled his wife before dropping her off at Samaritan Hospital on Jan. 15, 2021.
