Full Closure Scheduled For Section Of Long Island Expressway Scheduled roadwork on the Long Island Expressway could spell delays for drivers this week. The eastbound lanes of I-495 are set to close from 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 to 5 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, near Commack Road in the Town of Huntington, according to the Department of Transportation. In the meantime, traffic will be detoured onto the South Service Road. Transportation officials said the closure will allow road crews to complete scheduled bridge work. Memorial Services Set For Beloved Long Island Music Teacher Who Died At Age 83 Funeral arrangements have been announced for a beloved, longtime music teacher on Long Island. Lawrence Holdridge, of Amityville, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the age of 83 following a brief illness, according to his obituary.  Visitations will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., and again from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20 at Powell Funeral Home in Amityville. The break-in occurred at around 3:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in North Lawrence, at Ahuva’s Grill on Rockaway Turnpike, according to Nassau County Police. Anthony Dias, age 39, of Watervliet, died following the shooting, which occurred in Albany’s West Hill neighborhood, according to Albany Police.
