Purple Gun Bandit: NY Man Pleads Guilty In Gas Station Robbery
A New York man caught on camera using a purple handgun to rob a gas station has pleaded guilty, authorities said Thursday, April 9.
Nicholas Dodge, 31, held up a Sunoco gas station in Brunswick on Dec. 1, 2025, according to the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s office.
Dodge threatened an employee with the weapon, demanded and obtained money from the clerk, then fled on foot, police said. He was located shortly afterward and arrested in a traffic stop.
After pleading guilty to first-degree robbery, Dodge was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of probation, prosecutors said.
Justin Johnson Admits To Subway Robbery In Albany: DA
An Albany man has admitted to storming a Subway restaurant with a metal pipe, threatening workers, and stealing cash during a daytime robbery, authorities said Wednesday, April 8.
Justin Johnson, 39, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery for the January incident, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
Johnson burst into a Subway on New Scotland Ave. around 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 11 while holding a metal pipe, investigators said. He raised the pipe above his head, threatened two employees, and demanded money, according to police.

An Albany teenager led police on a brief chase through the city in a stolen car before slamming into a building, police said Wednesday, April 8.
Christopher Soto, 19, was spotted violating multiple traffic laws in the city on Wednesday, April 1, state police said.
Cops tried to pull Soto over, but he sped off down Second Street and initiated a chase, according to authorities. However, the short-lived pursuit ended when Soto crashed into a building on North Manning Boulevard, cops said.

A New York man stabbed an acquaintance in the hand and now faces felony charges, state police said Tuesday, April 7.
Clinton J. Breault, 55, of Moreau, was arrested on Sunday, March 26, after troopers responded to a Moreau home for reports of a stabbing just before 3 p.m., New York State Police said.
Investigators determined Breault and the victim were involved in a dispute when Breault stabbed the other person in the hand, police said. Breault knew the victim prior to the argument, according to authorities.
