A suspicious man spotted in Hasbrouck Heights turned out to be the guy police in Lodi had their eyes on in a pair of recent car burglaries, officials said. Matthew Jolls, 32, of Paterson, was wanted on a warrant for burglaries that took place on May 21, near Pine Street and St. Joseph Boulevard in Lodi, Lodi PD Chief Donald Scorzetti said Tuesday, June 3. Responding officers took reports from two separate addresses, and detectives later reviewed home surveillance footage. More than $19,000 has been raised for the family of an Ocean County resident who leaves behind young sons and a host of loved ones. Shawn Kaplan, of Brick, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 29, according to his obituary on the Colonial Funeral Home website. He was 40 years old. Truck Carrying Mayonnaise Catches Fire On Route 80
A truck carrying pallets of mayonnaise burst into flames on Route 80 in Hackensack Thursday afternoon, June 5, shutting down part of the highway, authorities said. The Hackensack Fire Department responded to the fire at 12:15 p.m. in the eastbound local lanes near mile-marker 64, according to Captain Kurt Nemeczek, public information officer. $25M Sale Will Transform REI Lot In Paramus Into Multi-Family Apartment Complex
A $25 million real estate deal will bring more than 400 apartments to a site next to Bergen Town Center in Paramus, officials said. JLL Capital Markets announced the sale of the Bergen Town Center Land Site, where a 426-unit multifamily complex will be developed along Forest Avenue near Route 4. A man's body was discovered around 6:41 a.m. near the 170 block of White Street, according to a joint statement from Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S.
