ID Released After Human Remains Found At Sunken Meadow State Park In Smithtown Authorities have identified a man whose remains were found at a state park on Long Island. The discovery was made just before 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Sunken Meadow State Park in Smithtown. On Wednesday, Nov. 1, New York State Police identified the man as 20-year-old Yoneli Abimael Ramos-Moreno, most recently of Brentwood. Teacher's Hit-Run Killer Gets 1 To 3 Years For Capital Region Crash; Widow Says 'Not Enough' The family of a beloved teacher who was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the region is calling for change after the man responsible was given no more than 36 months behind bars. Saratoga County resident John Lincoln-Lynch, age 57, of Moreau, was sentenced to an indeterminate term of one to three years in prison in Saratoga County Court on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Video Shows Thief Nabbing Van From Capital Region Business As 70s Rock Gives Soundtrack Police in the region are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was caught on dashcam video stealing a cargo van. The Albany theft was reported by sheriff’s officials Monday, Oct. 23. A dash-mounted camera was rolling as the man, seen wearing a long-sleeve checkered shirt and baseball cap, jumped into the van as it was parked outside an Albany business. New Details: Burglar Sexually Assaults Women During Break-Ins At Long Island Homes, DA Says Prosecutors have released new details in a pair of violent home break-ins targeting elderly women on Long Island. Derrick Clancy, age 42, was formally charged in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Nov. 1, in connection with the alleged burglaries and assaults at two homes in Mastic Beach. Shoplifter Carjacks Victim At Capital Region Business Before Leading Police Chase, Cops Say What began as a run-of-the-mill theft in the region ended with a carjacking and highway police pursuit involving multiple agencies, authorities said.
