44-Year-Old Canoer Drowns In Capital District Lake Crews have recovered the body of a 44-year-old man who drowned in a Capital District lake. Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials were called shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, with reports of a person struggling in the waters of Saratoga Lake, approximately a quarter mile north of Brown’s Beach in Stillwater. Callers to 911 said the man, who had been in a canoe, was yelling for help. Police Seek Suspect Caught On Video Stealing Woman's Wallet At Yorktown Store Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly stole a woman’s wallet from a store in the region. The theft occurred in Northern Westchester, at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Yorktown, located on Highway 202, Yorktown Police said. The woman noticed her wallet was missing when she went to pay for items. Former Coach In Hudson Valley Charged With Transporting Minors, Now Cops, To Engage In Sex Acts A former diving coach in the Hudson Valley is facing federal charges, years after he allegedly transported teenagers across state lines for sex. Victor Byrne, age 56, who formerly coached competitive divers in Rockland County, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 31, in Orlando, Florida. Drunk Long Island Man Nabbed Traveling Wrong Way On Meadowbrook State Parkway, Police Say State police likely averted tragedy after stopping an allegedly drunk, wrong-way driver on Long Island. Calls made to 911 started coming in at around 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, with reports of a vehicle driving the wrong way on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead. Teen Trio Accused Of Vandalizing Over Dozen Cars In Capital District Three teenagers are facing criminal charges after allegedly vandalizing more than dozen vehicles in the Capital District. State police in Saratoga County were called Monday, Aug. 29, with reports that 14 vehicles had been damaged in the town of Schuylerville and Victory Mills.
