Maywood Students Visit Metropolitan Museum Of Art MAYWOOD, N.J. -- Seventh-graders from Maywood Avenue School visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday, May 23 and Wednesday, May 25. Students viewed art work with their teachers. They have been learning about a variety of artists and styles in art class since fourth grade with art teacher Genecie Azzollini. Students were amazed and could not believe it was "real" Van Gogh and Monet art work. Eastchester Police Pay Tribute To Department's Fallen Officers EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Eastchester Police Department will hold its annual Memorial/Awards Service on Monday, May 30, in front of the Eastchester Town Hall, rain or shine.The public is invited to join the men and women of the Eastchester Police Department in paying tribute to all of the department's fallen members with a special tribute. There will also be a special tribute to deceased retired police officer Albert E. Lovelace. The event will begin at noon.

Heathcote School Celebrates Poetry, Arts At Scarsdale Festival SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Heathcote School held its eighth annual Art and Poetry Festival the week of April 18 to celebrate the two arts and recognize National Poetry Month. Heathcote's schoolwide exhibit was open to students and parents for three mornings, when artwork and poetry by students were displayed in the main hall galleries. Students worked with their classroom teachers to write original poems on topics ranging from being late for school to favorite vacations. Hyde Park Historical Society Opens Museum HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Town of Hyde Park Historical Society Museum will open on Saturday, June 4 in the former firehouse building on Albany Post Road in Hyde Park.There is no admission fee, but donations are appreciated. The museum will be open on Saturdays from 10 - 2 p.m. and Sundays from 1 -4 p.m through the end of October. Guests can come by and see the museum's collection of local memorabilia, including the voting machine that Franklin Delano Roosevelt used in 1932 when he ran against President Herbert Hoover. This year’s remembrance featured guest speaker was Lt. Col. Scott Rutter, who spoke to students and faculty about a very special charity called Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, which benefits the families of fallen soldiers.
