Midland Park High School Award Celebrates College-Bound Students
MIDLAND PARK, N.J. -- January is the fifth month of school and the time when college acceptance notifications begin to arrive. Midland Park High School noted that 18 students out of more than 50 that applied have been accepted to 31 colleges and universities and earned a total of $683,000 in merit scholarships based on student achievement. Valhalla High's Lucas van Bramer Gains Merit Scholarship Semifinals
VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Valhalla High School senior Lucas van Bramer was named a semifinalist in the 61st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. In the 2015-16 academic year, roughly 16,000 semifinalists will vie for about 7,400 National Merit Scholarships that are worth more than $32 million.Bramer, 17, is the only student from Valhalla High School who advanced this far in the competition. Citibank Closes Parking Lot In Tarrytown
TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Citibank closed its Tarrytown office on Friday and closed off the parking lot with it. The parking lot was shared as a partial municipal lot with meters, with use of the remaining lot when Citibank was not open.There was a contract with the village, but Citibank refused to extend the contract when it expired in December.
