The country music legend was inducted into the national Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York in 2008 and won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010.

Route 6 Stop Leads To DWI, Drug Charges
MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 52-year-old Michael J. Gaunt, of Mahopac, on Sunday for driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and unlawful possession of marijuana. Troopers were dispatched to assist Somers Police Department with a traffic stop on Route 6.
