Live Wires Fall On Truck After Driver Falls Asleep, Hits Pole In Red Hook A trapped driver was rescued after falling asleep and hitting a pole in Dutchess County, causing live wires to fall on his truck.  The crash happened on Pitcher Lane in Red Hook on Sunday, Oct. 4, at around 3:20 p.m., according to Red Hook Police.  Officers arriving at the scene found the truck on its side in the roadway with the driver trapped inside. The impact had snapped a utility pole, leaving live electrical wires on top of the pickup, police said.  Central Hudson crews responded and shut off power to the wires, allowing firefighters to reach the driver.
