Recent Report On Breast Biopsies Is Nothing New, Says White Plains Doctor WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Breast biopsies were in the news this week.  A recent article in the New York Times (go here for story) reports on a new study from The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) that says breast biopsies are good at telling the difference between healthy tissue and cancer, but less reliable for identifying more subtle abnormalities. According to the study, women whose results fall into the gray zone between normal and malignant — with diagnoses like “atypia” or “ductal carcinoma in situ” — should seek second opinions. Researchers say misinterpretation can …

The barre-based workout, with studios in Manhattan, the, Hamptons, Beverly Hills, Bangkok and Dubai, brings full circle the goal of bringing business back to her hometown. Though Vaughn Maanavi currently lives in Manhattan, she said her parents are still in Scarsdale and it was always a goal of hers to have a studio close to "home." The studio launched as a pop-up in October 2013 but after six months became "official." "I just knew the bu…

X-Planations: Chef Peter X. Kelly Talks Charity YONKERS, N.Y. -- For me, charity will always be a measure of character and to quote John F. Kennedy “For of those to whom much is given, much is required.” As an entrepreneur, and maybe more importantly as a compassionate member of my community, I feel compelled to participate in fundraising efforts. As a business owner I believe it's our duty to give back to the communities that offer us the opportunity to conduct our businesses through their patronage.  The challenge for restaurateurs, as is the challenge for any individual, is which charity or charities we choose to participate in. The newly invigorated group is headed by Lisa Hofflich of Mount Vernon, Raquelle Frenchman of Rye, Trina Ward Fontaine of Armonk, Susan Hawkin…
