At 4:57 p.m., officers responded to Belleview Avenue and found smoke and fire coming from the side of the residence, Gloucester Township police said. All occupants had safely evacuated, police said. Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire, police said. No injuries were reported, police said. The fire is being investigated by the Gloucester Township Police Department and the Erial Fire Department Fire Marshals Office, law enforcement said.

Following an investigation, Juarez-Ruiz was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation, aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, terroristic threats involving a threat to kill, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, police said.
