The Sky, 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the league, trailed 35-16 after three quarters before mounting a late-game comeback. "We have trouble handling the ball on the perimeter right now,'' Sky coach Michael Armstrong said. "Our point guard is out for about a week with an injury, and we're struggling with that right now. Norwalk Freshman Surprises With Track Milestone Norwalk Freshman Surprises With Track Milestone Norwalk Freshman Surprises With Track Milestone
Norwalk Freshman Surprises With Track Milestone Norwalk High girls track coach Pat Moffet thought freshman speedster Claire Turner might someday challenge the school record in the 600 meters. He was wrong. Turner not only challenged Lauren Ventrella's four-year old record, she also shattered it during Saturday's Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference meet at Staples High School. Turner blazed around the oval in 1:44.8, wiping out Ventrella's time of 1:47. It was only the second time Turner had run the event. This is her first year running track. "I didn't think I was going to be able to break it this year,'' says Claire, wh…

"We're strong down in the lower weight classes, but the middle is an area in need of improvement,'' said Westhill coach Tom Pereira, whose team fell to 12-4 overall and 9-2 in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference. "We're building a program here, and it takes some time." Westhill and Greenwich split the firs…
