FAA Reports Ridgefield Teen Had License To Carry Passengers RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Federal Aviation Administration reported Wednesday that the teenage Ridgefield pilot killed Sunday in a crash in New York was licensed to carry passengers. That information contradicts a previous report in The News-Times that Cathryn "Carey" Depuy was not licensed to travel with passengers. Depuy and Ryan Adams, a classmate at Colgate and also a resident of Ridgefield, died in the crash. Danbury Flyers Take 3rd In Girls Race At Wilton Invitational ​DANBURY, Conn., -- The Danbury Flyers kicked off the cross country season with a solid performance at the recent Wilton Invitational. At the meet, almost 250 runners competed in the 1.5 mile race which took place at Allen's Meadow Park in Wilton. The female Flyers took third place overall. Easton Triathlete Takes 3rd In International Championships EASTON, Conn. -- Easton’s Chris Thomas finished third Sunday in his age group at the International Triathlon Union Standard World Championships in Chicago. Thomas, owner of Personal Training Professionals in Southport, took third in the 40-44 age group. He finished the course in 1:58:26. The race consisted of a 1,500 meter swim, 40-kilometer bike ride and 6.7 mile (10.8 kilometer) run. Mark Harms of Madison, Wisc., won the race in 1:54:50.
