Norwalk's Thomas Poised For Breakout Season With UConn NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk’s Noel Thomas Jr. figures to play a prominent role for the University of Connecticut’s football team as the Huskies aim to rebound from last year’s 2-10 season. The Huskies open their 2015 season on Thursday at Rentschler Field in Hartford against Villanova at 7:30 p.m. Thomas, a junior wide receiver who starred at St. Luke’s in New Canaan, is the team’s top returning wide receiver. Neighbors Rally For Weston Man Badly Hurt In Fall Down Home Stairs WESTON, Conn. -- A fundraising drive has been established to help the family of a Weston man who suffered a traumatic brain injury after falling down a flight of stairs in June. Stephen Gurman spent 20 days in the intensive care at Norwalk Hospital after the fall on June 27. He is now undergoing rehabilitation at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, N.Y.
