Harvey Ice Hockey Skates In Scarsdale Tournament This Weekend WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Harvey School’s hockey team begins play Saturday at 4:10 p.m. in the annual Scarsdale Raiders Tournament. The Cavaliers meet Pearl River High School in their opening game. Office Lease Report Shows Strong Tenant Expansion In Stamford STAMFORD, Conn. -- Office space leasing showed strong growth in Fairfield County and Westchester County last year, according to statistics released Thursday by Stamford-based CBRE. Fairfield County’s availability rate dropped by 45 basis points, driven by tenant expansions in the Greenwich-Stamford Central Business District (CBD) and non-CBD submarkets, ending 2014 at 20.5 percent. Firefighters Put Out Morning Blaze At Yonkers Home YONKERS -- Yonkers Fire Department quickly extinguished a fire on Highland Terrace on Thursday morning. According to a story on News12.com, fire officials said the blaze started when the homeowner's cigar blew into a woodpile stacked near the house Wednesday night. The smoldering ashes erupted into a morning blaze. A 7 a.m. call alerted the fire department to the blaze. There were no injuries and there was minimal damage to the home.

George LeCates Jr., 81; Worked In Ridgefield Schools, Korean War Vet RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- George L. LeCates Jr. of Ridgefield died on Jan. 10 at Danbury Hospital. He was 81. LeCates was born in Norwalk on Oct. 6, 1933, and was the son of George H. LeCates, Sr. and Ethel J. Drenyoczsky LeCates. He was a graduate of Bassick High School in Bridgeport, Class of 1951, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
