White Plains' Tucker Earns Freshman All-American Honor WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains High School freshman Jordan Tucker has been named to the MaxPreps 2013-14 Boys Basketball Freshman All-American team. Tucker, a 6-6 guard-forward, averaged 14 points a game for White Plains and scored 34 points in a game during a December tournament. He was one of 10 players named to the team. MaxPreps also named first, second and third-team All-Americans. Tucker, who is already receiving offers from Division I colleges, plays AAU basketball for Team Scan based in New York. Chappaqua's Harrison Is Westchester's First Finisher At Boston Marathon WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Chappaqua runner Liam Harrison was the first finisher from Westchester County in Monday’s Boston Marathon. Harrison, 35, ran 2:39:15 and finished 310th overall. There were nearly 36,000 runners in the race. Jane Lundy of Yonkers was the first woman from Westchester, finishing in 3:12:48. Greenwich Woman Finishes 5th Among Connecticut Runners At Boston Marathon FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Greenwich’s Tara Allen, a Spanish teacher at Darien High School, finished fifth among women from Connecticut in Monday’s Boston Marathon. Allen’s time of 3:04:28 was 228th among women in the race and 21st in 40-49 age division. She was 3,299 overall in a field of nearly 36,000 runners. White Plains Cherry Blossom Festival Grows Behind Yoko Battista WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – When Yoko Battista was asked to help with the White Plains Cherry Blossom Festival over 13 years ago, it was a small event that drew a few hundred visitors.
