Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Robber Sprays South Jersey Store Clerk With Chemical, Flees On Bicycle: Police Police seek the public's help locating a robbery suspect who sprayed the store clerk with a chemical agent, authorities said.  At 12:54 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, an armed robbery occurred at the Somers Point News and Tobacco located at 501 New Road, Somers Point police said. The suspect fled with unspecified items on a bicycle, police said. He was described as a white or Hispanic male wearing a yellow or light green jacket. Motorcyclist, 68, Killed In South Jersey Crash: Police A 68-year-old motorcycle rider from Atlantic County was killed in a weekend crash, authorities said. Gorman Carey of Estell Manor crashed on Sunday, Feb. 27 near Harding Highway and Walkers Forge Road in Mays Landing, according to Hamilton Township police. Carey was pronounced dead at the crash scene, police said. The crash is currently under investigation by the Township of Hamilton Police Department. The Atlantic County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted on scene.

The initial investigation revealed that Sabrina Ben-Porat of Jackson was crossing the roadway when she was struck by a 2015 Dodge Durango being operated by a 22-year-old male resident of Toms River, police said. A 19-year-old driver remained at the crash scene in Marlboro and had not been charged. Ex-Auto Repair Shop Manager Stole $90K: Prosecutor A former manager of an automotive repair shop has been indicted in connection with $90,000 in thefts, authorities said. The thefts allegedly took place over the course of 15 months, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey. Joshua Chisenhall, 39, was charged with theft by deception and computer theft, Linskey said.
