Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

On Dec. 26, a video was posted to Facebook depicting a teenager assaulting and robbing an elderly woman in the 1500 block of Adriatic Avenue, Atlantic City police said. $100 Million Indoor Waterpark To Break Ground At Showboat Atlantic City A non-gambling, family-friendly attraction is coming to Atlantic City. The groundbreaking ceremony on ISLAND Waterpark at Showboat Atlantic City will be held on Jan. 12 at 10:30 a.m. Showboat's owner and CEO of Tower Investments, Inc., Bart Blastein, announced the news in a press release this week, touting the development as the largest indoor waterpark in the world. The 103,000-square-foot waterpark is a $100 million project and will have a lazy river, pools, shopping, party rooms, lounge areas, and waterslides. Route 35 in Wall Township was closed in both directions near Allaire Road about 5:30 p.m. as a result of the crash, initial reports said. 65 Cars Involved In Icy Crashes On Major NJ Roadway At least 65 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes on a major ice-covered road in Central Jersey, authorities said. The crashes were blamed on black ice which often forms at dawn and dusk, according to the Monmouth County sheriff. Shooting Investigated In South Jersey Authorities are investigating a shooting in South Jersey. The shooting occurred before 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Burns Road in Millville,  according to Millville police. The victim, who reportedly was shot in the stomach, was airlifted to an area hospital, initial reports said. Millville police referred questions to the state Attorney General's Office. The Attorney General later confirmed it was an officer-involved shooting and that the victim was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital at 10:56 p.m.

Fatal Crash Involving Garbage Truck Reported In Central Jersey: Developing A 59-year-old motorist was killed in a collision with a garbage truck, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. The crash occurred about 5:35 a.m. Tuesday on Route 34 at Spring Hill Road in Old Bridge, initial reports said. The unidentified driver of the car reportedly crossed in front of the garbage truck as she exited a pharmacy, police said.
