Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Bullet Found Behind Central Jersey Elementary School, Authorities Say A bullet was found outside a Central Jersey school Thursday about two months after a report of gunfire nearby, authorities said. A worker at Cove Road Elementary School in Hazlet was blowing leaves on the school grounds when the "projectile" was found, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey. Hazlet police investigated a 9-1-1 call at 10:14 p.m. on Oct. 7 reporting gunshots in the neighborhood behind Cove Road Elementary at 8 Cove Road, although nothing was found at the time, authorities said. What's That Smell? Rabid Skunk Found In Central Jersey The ninth rabid animal of 2021 has been found in Middlesex County, authorities said. The Middlesex County Office of Health Services is reporting that a skunk tested positive for rabies in Monroe Township in the vicinity of Schoolhouse Road and Galacia Way. The attempted armed robbery occurred about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bank of America bank at 918 Springfield Ave., the outlet said. Irvington Police arrested Bruce Savateri Jr, 48, of Egg Harbor Township, according to RLS Media. Savateri was being held at the Essex County Correction Facility.
