Pleasantville native Jon Craig is special editor for the Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Orange and Dutchess Daily Voice sites. He is also the primary reporter for Daily Voice Plus Politics in Westchester and Fairfield.

Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Ocean County Fugitive Extradited From Texas In Fatal Hit-Run Crash Remains Jailed A 27-year-old Jackson man arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on Christmas Eve has been ordered to remain detained at Ocean County Jail, authorities said.  Roberto Alcazar-Sanchez previously was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death and driving with a suspended license, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Winning Mega Millions Ticket Worth $10K Sold In Monmouth County There was one third-tier prizewinning ticket sold for Friday's Mega Millions drawing in Central Jersey, state Lottery officials said. The lucky ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball drawn to win $10,000.  The winning numbers for the April 9 drawing were: 22, 26, 27, 58, and 66. The Gold Mega Ball was 12, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02. The winning ticket was purchased at Quick Chek #79, 1 Cliffwood Road in Matawan. The Mega Millions jackpot now rolls to $220 million.

South Jersey Motorcyclist, 35, Killed In Crash A 35-year-old motorcyclist from Gloucester County was killed early Wednesday when his bike collided with a guardrail, authorities said. James P. Tomlinson Jr., of Williamstown, was riding northbound on Jackson Road near its intersection with Whitehall Road when he crashed shortly before 1 a.m., according to Monroe Township police. Tomlinson's rear brake locked causing him to lose control of the 2001 Yamaha motorcycle, which slid about 75 feet before striking a guardrail, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
