Police Response Shuts Route 23, Route 287
Police activity is slowing the Monday morning, Aug. 3 commute on along Route 23 and Route 287 northbound in Riverdale. As of 9:05 a.m., two of the three northbound lanes were closed near New Jersey Route 23, according to 511NJ. Officials have not released additional information about the nature of the police activity. Motorists should expect delays and consider allowing extra travel time through the area. An Atlantic City police officer who also serves in the U.S. Coast Guard is recovering after suffering a sudden stroke just two weeks after becoming a father, prompting an outpouring of community support. A driver was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Wall Township late Thursday night, July 30, authorities said. At 11 55 p.m., Wall Township police responded to the intersection of Route 138 and New Bedford Road, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.
