Fairfield Man Charged After Passing Counterfeit Bills, Police Say FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield man was charged with seven counts of forgery Monday, after he tried to pass counterfeit bills at a town gas station earlier this year, police said. Police said Justin Tyrrell, 33, of Jarvis Court, turned himself in on a warrant Monday morning. On April 20, a clerk at the Citgo station on the Post Road called police to report a man had tried to pass her a counterfeit $20 bill. Danbury Man Held On Shoplifting Charge In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — A Danbury man was held on $10,000 bond after he loaded items into a Stop & Shop shopping cart and left the Post Road store without paying for them July 2, Westport police said. Miguel Marrero, 29, of Maple Avenue, was identified recently as the suspect, police said. Store security was able to see the license plate number on the gray Ford the suspect got into after leaving the store, police said. Police: Drunken Driver Charged After Hitting Moped In Westport WESTPORT, Conn. — A Westport man was charged with drunken driving late Aug. 9 after he ran into the back of a moped and injured the driver, police said. Donald Fries, 57, of Chestnut Lane, was driving on the Post Road East at about 11 p.m., when he struck the back of the moped, which was stopped at a red light, police said.
