Tree Logs Fall, Kill Tow Truck Operator From NY In PA: Coroner
A tow truck operator from New York was killed when several tree logs fell and struck him in the head in Weisenberg Township, Pennsylvania, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office announced on Wednesday, May 21.
Steven M. Gill, 36, most recently of West Penn Township, died after the accident in the 3700 block of Spring Road around 8:50 a.m., according to officials.
Gill was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 9:49 a.m., the coroner’s office said.
An autopsy completed Thursday determined he died from blunt force injuries. His death was ruled accidental.

A 2-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after falling from a 15th-floor balcony in Montgomery County, police say.
The fall happened around 2:10 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at an apartment building on Oak Leaf Drive in White Oak, according to Montgomery County Police, who are now investigating.
First responders arrived to find the toddler in the bushes below after the fall, police said.
Amazingly, the boy survived.
Officials say the child was rushed to the hospital with a broken leg and several internal injuries, but he is expected to recover.

Tree Falls On Car, Trapping Driver: Quakertown Fire Company
A driver was hospitalized after being trapped in his vehicle after a tree fell on it on Tuesday, May 13 in Alexandria Township, authorities said.
At 3 p.m., multiple rescue crews responded to Route 579 and Cooks Cross Road and worked to extricate the driver, using hydraulic rescue tools, Quakertown Fire Company said. First responders used hydraulic rescue tools and stabilized the car, removed the side, flapped the roof, cut the steering wheel and removed the patient in less than nine minutes, firefighters said.
