Gunman Admits Robbing Hotels In Ramapo, Nanuet, Elsewhere
A 46-year-old man admitted that he robbed employees at a Howard Johnson's in Airmont and a Hilton Garden Inn in Nanuet, along with those at a dozen other hotels in New Jersey. An alert was issued regarding 57-year-old Yolanda Emery, who is wanted by police on charges of petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen cell phones and bolt cutters from an Airmont business last September. Police Use Narcan To Rescue Overdose Victim In Rockland
Some quick-acting police officers in Rockland County may have saved the life of a potential overdose victim in Airmont. Members of the Ramapo Police Department were dispatched to an Airmont home late on Labor Day, where there was a report of a male overdose victim. The officers jumped into action, administering Naloxone (Narcan) to the victim, who was revived. Police said that the officers administered first aid until paramedics from the Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics. A man who called 911 from an event in the area has been charged with threatening to "kill people," according to the Ramapo Police Department. The event took place in Airmont around 12:21 p.m. Saturday, July 7, when Ramapo dispatch received a 911 call from an unknown man via cellphone that threatened to "start killing people," said Det. Two suspects are on the loose following an armed robbery at a Verizon store in Rockland County. Two suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts and ski masks entered the store at 214 Route 59 in Airmont, displayed a knife and ordered the clerk to open the safe, Ramapo Police said.
