A Danville City Councilman was doused in a flammable liquid and set on fire inside his workplace Wednesday morning, according to police in Virginia.
Shotsie Michael Buck Hayes, 29, is accused of carrying out the attack on Lee Vogler, 38, which left Vogler hospitalized and Hayes facing attempted murder and other charges, according to the Danville Police Department.
Officers were called at approximately 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, to the 700 block of Main Street for a report of a man being set on fire, according to police.

A Maryland man is behind bars after allegedly firing multiple shots at another person during a heated overnight argument, police said.
Officers with the Hagerstown Police Department responded to the 200 block of W. Franklin Street around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, for a report of shots fired.
“Within minutes, officers were able to identify the suspect from city surveillance cameras, locate him and place him under arrest,” HPD said in a statement.
