E-Bike Rider Killed In Crash With Pickup Truck At Intersection In Medford: Police
An e-bike rider was killed in a crash with a pickup truck at a Medford intersection on Friday morning, Sept. 12, Suffolk County Police announced.
Gilberto Guilbe, 35, of Far Rockaway, was operating an e-bike eastbound on Woodside Avenue when he collided with a northbound 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck at the intersection of Route 112 at 6:17 a.m., police said in a release.
Guilbe was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk County where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
The driver of the pickup, Duglas Melgarguillen, 39, of Bay Shore, was uninjured, investigators said.

Two men were indicted in connection with the fentanyl overdose death of a Brentwood father whose 4-year-old daughter discovered his body.
Steven Pesantez, 29, of Brentwood, and Isaiah Skees, 27, of Bay Shore, were charged with multiple drug-related felonies in Suffolk County Court Thursday, Aug. 28, following a months-long investigation.
The case stems from the Feb. 12 death of a man in Brentwood who died of fentanyl intoxication, prosecutors said. His young daughter was the one to find him.

Daniel Soto, 37, was indicted in Suffolk County Court on Monday, July 14, after investigators determined he used violence and manipulation to force the victim into sex work for his personal profit, according to the district attorney’s office.

Nikeya Barker, 44, of Bay Shore, was arraigned on murder charges in Suffolk County Court on Monday, May 19, in the killing of 47-year-old Shurvell Rush, of Central Islip.
