Couple Accused Of Embezzling Money From Baseball Association In Fairfield County
A Fairfield County couple has been arrested for allegedly embezzling more than $25,000 from an area youth baseball association.
Kurt Dyer, 51, and Jennifer Dyer, 47, both of Bethel, were arrested on Thursday, April 16, on outstanding warrants for larceny following a complaint by the Bethel Baseball Association, a private children's baseball association, said Bethel Police Lt. George J. Bryce, Jr.
The arrests came after the organizations new treasurer found several questionable transactions during a financial review, Bryce said.

Here's How Many Are Still Without Power Two Days After Rain, Wind Storm
More than 1,000 Connecticut residents are still without power two days after a series of storms ripped through the region, flooding the area, downing trees and power lines.
As of just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, about 48 hours after the storms began, Eversource was still working to repair outages that continue to impact 1,035 of its 1,279,556 customers. United Illuminating was also still working on one outage in Woodbridge that was affecting three customers.

Man Nabbed By DNA Match To $50K Jewelry Theft, Wilton Police Say
A 32-year-old man is behind bars for allegedly stealing more than $50,000 in jewelry after a DNA sample placed him at the scene.
Lucio Gonzales, of Bethel, was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday, Dec. 24, by Wilton Police near his home, said the Wilton Police Department.
The investigation stems back to Feb. 10, when Gonzales was working to help a resident prepare a home for sale by providing handyman services, the department said.
After Gonzales finished work, the jewelry was discovered missing.
