New York State Police investigators in Montgomery issued an alert for a wanted man who has multiple warrants out for his arrest in the Hudson Valley. David Smykla, 39, was arrested for possession of crack cocaine during a traffic stop in Newburgh last year. He was taken into custody after attempting to flee on foot, taking police on a short chase before he was stopped. According to police, Smykla later failed to return to court and bench warrant was issued for his arrest from the City of Newburgh Court. Driver Loses Control Of Vehicle Ends Up In Creek In Area A speeding motorist was injured after losing control of his vehicle and ending up in a creek in the area. The single-vehicle crash took place in Orange County around 7:11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, on Tuthill Road in Blooming Grove, said Blooming Grove Police Officer Michael Graziano. Graziano said speed played a factor in the man losing control and going off the roadway, into a creek, where the vehicle rolled over. When police arrived on the scene the driver was out of the vehicle.  The driver received minor injuries, Graziano said.  The crash is under investigation.

The Department says traffic stoppages are scheduled for Route 17 eastbound and westbound between Exit 127 (Route 17M) and Exit 131 (Route 17/32) in the Orange County village of Chester and the towns of Blooming Grove, Monroe and Woodbury. The incident took place in Orange County around 3:45 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, in the parking lot of a Blooming Grove housing complex behind 40 Tanager Road, police said. A heavyset black male with his hair pulled back, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt reportedly fired at least 4 rounds at a white SUV, the Blooming Grove Police Department said.
