A Morris County man with meth sped away from officers during a traffic stop, initiating a high-speed pursuit that ended with a crash and not one but two foot chases, police said.
Michael A. Liska, Jr., 28, sped off while officers tried to stop him for driving without a seatbelt and having a broken brake light near the Budd Lake Diner around 1:35 p.m. Saturday, Mount Olive Police said.
Liska, of Budd Lake, sped through the parking lot of CVS on Woodsedge Avenue before crashing into a vehicle on Route 46 east, police said.

A Morris County man accused of forcing a woman into prostitution with drugs for more than a month has been charged in an additional armed robbery from 2018, authorities said.
Jeremiah Forde, 39, is accused of beating a victim with an expandable baton and throwing them through a sliding glass door, causing severe injuries during an armed robbery at the Red Carpet Inn on Nov. 14, 2018, Hanover Police Chief Mark D. Roddy said.
Forde, who is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility on unrelated offenses, was charged with armed robbery, authorities said.

Two men including one arrested for an armed robbery have been charged with using drugs to force a woman into prostitution for more than month in North Jersey, authorities said.
William Wilson, 47, of Belvidere, NJ and Jeremiah Forde, 39, of Budd Lake, forced the adult female into acts of prostitution out of a Hanover hotel, then collected the proceeds, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker, Hanover Police Chief Mark Roddy said.

DWI Budd Lake Man, 42, Charged In Route 46 Hit-And-Run Crash
A Budd Lake man was under the influence when he left the scene of a crash on Route 46, authorities said.
Daniel F. Stroup, 42, crashed his silver Chevy pickup truck on Route 46 in Mount Olive Township just before 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 10 -- then drove away, Mount Olive police said.
A police sergeant saw the truck on Wolfe Road and followed it to a home on Highfield Court, police said.
During questioning, Stroup displayed signs of intoxication and subsequently failed field sobriety tests, authorities said.
