A 23-year-old man has been arrested and accused of stealing cash from a Westchester dessert shop he used to work at, police said.
The incidents happened at Ralph’s Italian Ices at 407 Mamaroneck Ave. in the Village of Mamaroneck, the village's police department announced on Friday, Aug. 8.
The investigation began on Wednesday, July 23, after the business owner reported that someone had entered the store on Friday, July 18, and stolen about $1,000 in cash.

A 22-year-old Newark resident and a 17-year-old were arrested and charged with stealing two BMWs in Fairfield, authorities announced Thursday, Aug. 7.
On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 7:57 a.m., officers responded to Colt Street for a report of a motor vehicle stolen from a driveway of a home overnight, Fairfield police said.
Altamir Thornton and the juvenile entered the home through a window and stole cash and a key fob to a 2024 BMW X7M, police said. The vehicle, along with a BMW X5 were later spotted in Glen Avenue that day. The BMW X5 was stolen from Piscataway, police said.

A woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking a woman and locking her inside a room during a violent dispute in a Long Island apartment, police said.
The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at a Farmingdale residence on Eastern Parkway, according to Nassau County Police.

Shawn D. Jones, 54, is charged with killing Allan Wayne Hess, 59, during a burglary in the 200 block of West Walnut Street on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
