The votes are in, and these are the best hamburgers in Massachusetts, according to burgerphiles. Over 5,000 voters took part in a survey conducted by Taste of Massachusetts asking where to find the best beef patties in the Bay State. More than 1,000 people tossed their favorite restaurants into the running and, after four rounds of “some very close voting,” the website had its ranking of the 16 best burgers in Massachusetts. A handful of Massachusetts pizza restaurants are cranking out some of the best pies in the nation, a new ranking announced. Lowell Man Nabbed In Double Stabbing Outside Cambridge Restaurant
A Lowell man has been arrested in connection with two stabbings that happened in front of a Cambridge restaurant in early January, police said. Joshua Barreau, 23, was charged in Cambridge District Court with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to authorities. Red Line Commuters Will See Major Change Starting Soon
Commuters will have to take shuttle buses between Alewife and Harvard stations in Cambridge beginning next week as the MBTA makes "critical track" repairs to the Red Line. Work will run from Monday, Feb. 5, through Feb. 14, the MBTA announced on Tuesday, Jan. 30. 1 Dead In Early Morning Cambridge Apartment Fire; 15 Left Homeless
One person is dead, and more than a dozen are without homes to begin the new year after an early morning fire in Cambridge burned through an apartment complex, officials said. The blaze began just after 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at a four-story Chester Street apartment building, state fire officials said. Card Skimmer Found At Needham Grocery Store, Police Issue Warning
Needham police are asking anyone who shopped at Sudbury Farms grocery store between Dec. 16 and Christmas Eve to monitor their credit and debit card balances after a skimming device was found on a self-checkout lane. The device, which looks like a typical credit card acceptor, is placed over the store's device and steals the information of any card swiped through it. Boston Man Admits To Multiple Shootings In Cambridge, Somerville: DA
A Boston man who admitted to multiple shootings in Cambridge and Somerville in 2021 and 2022 was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 20, to eight and a half years in prison, authorities said. Lennox Pierre-Louis, 22, pleaded guilty to the shootings that began in 2021 in Somerville and two others in Cambridge, the Middlesex District Attorney said.
