A Long Island man has been convicted of robbing a gas station at gunpoint and speeding away from cops at 100 mph afterward, authorities announced Wednesday, April 29.
Marion Maupin, a 33-year-old Ridge man, was part of a two-man team that held up a Shell station in Yaphank, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.
Maupin and Raiquan Davis, 28, arrived at the Shell around 7:45 a.m. on Jan. 24, 2025, prosecutors said. Maupin pulled a gun and pointed it at the clerk’s head, while Davis watched the door as the lookout, according to investigators.

A Connecticut man will spend decades behind bars for a deadly shooting that left one person dead and another seriously hurt in a New Haven neighborhood.
Treyvon Battle, 35, of Hamden, was sentenced to serve 80 years in prison on Wednesday, April 22, the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice said.
