A Hartford man will spend decades in prison for a shooting that killed one man and seriously wounded another.
Benjamin White, 38, was sentenced to 65 years on Wednesday, Jan. 21, the Office of the State's Prosecutor said. White was found guilty of the 2022 murder of Simon Griffin in Oct. 2025.
Jurors found White guilty of murder, first-degree assault, and criminal possession of a firearm.

A man who raped an 11-year-old girl while working as a painter-for-hire in Westchester County has been sentenced to an enhanced prison term, prosecutors announced.
Anselmo Yambay Pena, 61, of Peekskill, was sentenced on Friday, Jan. 16, to 20 years in state prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision, after pleading guilty to first-degree rape, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office announced on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
