Four-Seat Airplane Forced To Make Emergency Landing At Danbury Airport
A four-seat airplane was forced to make an emergency landing late Sunday morning at the Danbury Airport and both the pilot and passenger managed to avoid suffering injuries. At approximately 11:34 a.m., Danbury Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the airport on a report of an aircraft with an in-flight emergency. Update The 68-year-old man who went missing in Northern Westchester on Monday, Aug. 13 has been found, Bedford Police announced Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 15. A third formal search was conducted for John A. Vasile late Wednesday morning, police said, and Vasile was located - conscious and alert - within the Bedford Village hamlet. A quick response from the Danbury Fire Department resulted in a happy ending to what had been a scary situation. Fire Department Lt. Nick Cabral distracted a young girl as other firefighters worked to unlock the door of her mother's minivan that she was locked inside of Saturday. The City of Danbury Fire Department in partnership with the American Red Cross spent their St. Patrick's Day visiting residents to install free smoke alarms as a way to help reduce/eliminate fire-related deaths and injuries.
