A Connecticut man is back behind bars after police said he violated a court-ordered no-contact order with his alleged victim just minutes after getting out on bond.
Michael Barnes, 47, of Wallingford, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2026, in connection with a domestic violence incident, authorities said.
Barnes, a convicted felon, allegedly assaulted an elderly victim and coerced the victim into giving him a check to cash so he could buy drugs, police said. Barnes then sped away from the home in the victim’s vehicle.

Charles Horlesen, of Kissimmee, FL, was arrested Wednesday, July 23, in Queen Anne’s County, according to Montgomery County Police.

A Connecticut man is facing serious charges after a chaotic scene in Lisbon, after police say he broke into a home, stole a firearm, and assaulted an elderly person, authorities said.
Michael Grenier, 36, of Enfield, was first introduced to police on Sunday, June 29, when someone called officers to report a man screaming at passing vehicles on Kimball Road around 7:30 p.m., Connecticut State Police said.

A couple has been charged with allegedly stealing more than $460,000 from a person in Fairfield County.
In Nov. 2022, the Norwalk Police Department Detective Bureau opened an investigation into a report of a married couple illegally taking money from an elderly person, said Lt. Joe Dinho of the Norwalk Police.

A woman was arrested for larceny after she allegedly stole more than $2,800 from a person she worked for in the Capital Region as a home health aide.

A man unlawfully entered an elderly woman's home in Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 14, and attacked and sexually assaulted her, authorities said.
