1 Hospitalized After Hanover Rowhome Fire
One person was hospitalized after an early morning fire tore through a rowhome attic in Hanover Borough on Monday, Nov. 4, officials said. The fire broke out in the first block of South Penn Street, near Stock Street. Hanover Area Fire & Rescue crews arrived to find flames pouring from the attic, dispatchers said. Firefighters acted quickly to contain the blaze, while Hanover police secured the scene around 2:30 a.m. One resident of the home was injured and taken to a nearby hospital in Hanover. A man who was involved in a minor crash on the New York Thruway was killed when he stepped out of his vehicle to inspect the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV. Saul Clark, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, had gotten out of his vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-87 in West Nyack when he was struck by the passing SUV driven by a Nyack woman just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. A 60-year-old Hopatcog woman was arrested and charged on the early morning of Monday, Oct. 13 with drunk driving after she drove the wrong way on a one-way street, authorities said. One Hospitalized In Sparta House Fire: Police
One person was hospitalized following a house fire in Sparta on the evening of Monday, Oct. 14, authorities said. Firefighters responded to 190 West Shore Trail and worked to extinguish the blaze, Sparta police said in a release. One of the residents had to be transported to a nearby hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation, police said. A two-vehicle Long Island crash left one of the drivers seriously injured. It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct.13, in Hauppauge. A 33-year-old man from Brentwood was driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Joshuas Path, near Stonehenge Lane. He attempted to make a right-hand turn into a parking lot and was struck by a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle that was trying to go around the Jeep, according to Suffolk County Police. 1One person was hospitalized and one summons was issued in a two-vehicle crash outside Chit Chat Diner in Hackensack Friday night, Oct. 11, police said. The crash involved a Toyota SUV and a Honda sedan around, Capt. Michael Antista said. Sometime around 9:15 p.m., a Toyota SUV and Honda sedan collided. Teen Among 2 Struck By Cars In Ridgewood 30 Minutes Apart: Police
Two people including a 17-year-old boy were struck by vehicles in separate incidents minutes apart on Thursday morning, Oct. 10. The first incident involved the teen at 8:08 a.m., Ridgewood Police Capt. Glenn Ender said. He was riding an electric bicycle when he collided with a vehicle on Ackerman Avenue near Lenox. Minor injuries were reported and he was not hospitalized. Then, at 8:27 a.m., a 24-year-old woman was struck at N. Maple Avenue and E. Ridgewood Avenue. She was taken to The Valley Hospital in Paramus with minor injuries, Ender said.
