Fair Lawn Driver Hospitalized After Glen Rock Crash
A Fair Lawn motorist was hospitalized following a Tuesday morning crash in Glen Rock, authorities said. The 38-year-old woman was driving a 2023 Toyota Camry that collided with a 2021 Chevy Tahoe driven by a 43-year-old Glen Rock woman at the intersection of Hillman Avenue and Woodvale Road near Prospect Street shortly before 10 a.m. Aug. 15, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The Camry driver was taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't life-threatening, the chief said. A man who began serving a five-year sentence earlier this year for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Bergen County girl still faces related charges in his home state of Washington. Devin C. Curtis, 26, was originally arrested by authorities at his home in Clarkston, WA in June 2021. A mother had gone to police in Glen Rock a few months earlier after discovering “extremely sexual” texts and images. They, in turn, contacted their colleagues more than 2,500 miles away in Clarkston. An elderly Hackensack couple were rescued after a mid-morning parking lot crash left their vehicle perched over a stream in Glen Rock, authorities said. Borough police, firefighters and EMS converged on the parking lot at 85 Harristown Road and found the pair stranded in their vehicle on the banks of the Diamond Brook. Glen Rock DPW Worker Injured When Bobcat Tips
A Glen Rock DPW worker was hospitalized Thursday after a Bobcat mini excavator he was operating at the borough landfill tipped onto its side, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The 40-something worker was belted in when the mishap occurred at the facility off Doremus Avenue around 1:30 p.m. July 27, the chief said. Firefighters freed a trapped young driver whose SUV slammed into a utility pole and landed on its side late Sunday in Glen Rock.
