Man, 25, Shot Dead In Cumberland County: Police
A 25-year-old Bridgeton man was shot and killed, authorities said. On Sunday, Sept. 3, at approximately 9:25 p.m., Bridgeton police responded to Mount Vernon Street on for a report of a gunshot victim, Bridgeton police said. Police found the victim, identified as Brian Pineda, who resided at the residence, suffering from gunshot wounds, tney said. Springfield Killing: Man Charged In Shootout That Left 1 Dead, 1 Wounded
A 37-year-old man recovering from a gunshot wound at Baystate Medical Center is charged with a Thursday, Aug. 31, killing, authorities said. Thomas Whitlock, of Springfield, is charged with murder, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and discharging a gun within 500 feet of a building, Springfield police said. Newark Man, 50, Dies Days After Irvington Shooting
A 50-year-old Newark man was fatally shot in Irvington, police said. Tony King was found suffering gunshot wounds around 11:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, on the 100 block of Isabella Avenue, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers said. King was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. The investigation is active and ongoing. A 28-year-old Ohio man has been convicted in connection with a double-fatal shooting in Cumberland County, authorities said. Michael R. Loftin, Jr., of Cincinnati, OH, was convicted after a 12-day jury trial of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. The murder-suicide victims found in a Central Pennsylvania home over the weekend have been identified as a recently engaged couple.
