Dog Rescued From Partially Frozen Long Island Pond A dog was rescued after it fell into a partially frozen Long Island pond. The incident occurred on Sunday, Feb. 7 at around 9 a.m. in Hewlett, at Grant Park, located at 1625 Broadway.  Responding Nassau County Police officers located the dog’s owner and were able to locate the golden retriever, Lucky, who was struggling to stay afloat.  Hewlett Fire Department responded to the scene.  Rescue swimmers from the fire department were deployed and they were able to safely reach and rescue Lucky.  The dog was transported to an area animal hospital for evaluat…
