The crash happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, on Peninsula Boulevard in Hempstead, according to Nassau County Police.
Investigators determined that Michael DeMedina, 64, was crossing Peninsula Boulevard near South Franklin Street when he was struck by a Toyota Tundra driven by a 49-year-old man, police said.
