A man whose body was pulled out of the Hudson River at a dock in Northern Westchester weeks after he jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge has been identified by authorities. Westchester County Police discovered the body of Scarsdale resident Donald Baker, age 49, at the Steam Boat Dock in Verplanck on Hardie Street on Friday, Dec. 29, according to authorities. Woman Found Dead In Hudson River On Christmas Eve Tentatively Identified
A woman who was found floating in the Hudson River on Christmas Eve has been tentatively identified. The body was discovered in Dutchess County around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 24 near Waryas Park in the city of Poughkeepsie. The body was taken to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification of the remains, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark of the city of Poughkeepsie Police. NJ Transit Officers Stop Suicidal Jumper In Hoboken
New Jersey Transit Police helped save a person in distress in Hoboken recently. A person had crossed over a safety railing at Hoboken Terminal, aiming to jump into the Hudson River, police said. Police used physical restraint to prevent the person from jumping, while engaging in dialogue with the person, officers said. Alert Issued For Person Missing For Several Days In Ossining
Town officials in Northern Westchester are asking residents to be on the lookout for a person who has been missing for several days. Jose Fernando Palta has been missing since Sunday night, Dec 17, according to a Facebook post that was re-shared by Ossining town officials on Tuesday night, Dec. 19. Critically Injured Bicyclist Airlifted After Crash Along Hudson River
A bicyclist who was critically injured along the Hudson River below the Palisades was airlifted to the hospital Sunday morning. Unofficial reports from the scene at the Alpine Boat Basin in Palisades Interstate Park are that the 30-year-old bicyclist suffered a punctured lung, among other injuries, in a crash around 10 a.m. Sept. 17. A 20-year-old Rutherford man was rescued from the Palisades after he fell and was injured before dawn on Labor Day, authorities said. Two people were rescued from a capsized vessel in the Hudson River when an observant train passenger spotted them in the water while traveling in Westchester near the new Tappan Zee Bridge.
