Teen Seriously Injured After SUV Slams Into Holtsville Overpass, Overturns, Catches Fire
A 19-year-old man was seriously injured late Monday, Nov. 24, when his Jeep sideswiped another vehicle, slammed into an overpass, overturned, and burst into flames in Holtsville.
The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. on southbound Nicolls Road at the Division Street overpass, according to Suffolk County Police.
The driver, identified as a Patchogue man, was heading south in a Jeep Cherokee when he sideswiped a 2019 Toyota Highlander, then veered into the overpass support structure, police said. The SUV overturned and caught fire moments later.

A woman was seriously injured after crashing her car into a Huntington Station home on Sunday, Nov. 16 at approximately 10:15 p.m., Suffolk County Police announced on Monday, Nov. 17.
Allison Schneider, 22, of Huntington Station, was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra westbound on West 19th Street when she lost control and slammed into the house at 186 West 19th St., according to the release.
She was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Her Hyundai was later impounded for a safety check.

A 71-year-old Berlin man was killed and two others injured in a crash on Route 76 in Camden County Sunday, Nov. 9, authorities said.
At 6:41 p.m., a BMW traveling eastbound on Route 76 in Bellmawr crashed into the back of a Kia, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
The driver of the Kia, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Marchan said. A 31-year-old passenger in the Kia sustained moderate injuries while the driver of the BMW, a 33-year-old Wenoah man, sustained minor injuries, Marchan said.

Ana-Maria Ciofu was driving a 2025 Lexus IS300 north on Route 206 when she hit a 2013 Toyota RAV4 in Chester Township on Aug. 31 just after 5:50 p.m., Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said Monday, Nov. 3.
The Lexus was traveling at an excessive rate of speed at the time of the crash, Carroll said.
