A 39-year-old Franklin County man who admitted to terrorizing his friends by chasing them through the woods while firing shots at them received a five-year prison sentence on Tuesday, Jan. 31, authorities said.
Olin Schwenger-Sartz, 39, of Heath, pleaded guilty to 10 charges, including two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm while intoxicated, the Northwestern District Attorney said.

A traffic jam on an I-93 on-ramp started early Monday morning after police said an intoxicated man decided to take a nap in his car that was filled with marijuana, more than $8,500 in cash, and a loaded pistol.
James Charles Knight, 45, faces charges of operating under the influence, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said. A judge ordered him held on a $10,000 bond.

State police likely averted tragedy after stopping an allegedly drunk, wrong-way driver on Long Island.
Calls made to 911 started coming in at around 4 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, with reports of a vehicle driving the wrong way on the Meadowbrook State Parkway in Hempstead.
Callers reported the driver was heading southbound in the northbound lanes, approaching the Ocean Parkway.

A man from New York had inhaled toxic fumes before harassing others and throwing furniture around at a Morris County McDonald’s restaurant, authorities said.
Jose Santos Lovos, of Yonkers, is accused of getting into an altercation with another man at the Morris County Mall’s McDonald’s restaurant on Tuesday, Jan. 25, Hanover Police said in a Tuesday, Feb. 15 release.
Lovos, 49, was seen throwing furniture around the restaurant while cursing and yelling at the man, according to police.
A follow-up investigation found that Lovos had inhaled toxic fumes prior to the incident, police said.

Wanted DWI South Jersey Man Nabbed After Foot Chase On Route 47, State Police Say
A South Jersey man was intoxicated when he pulled over on Route 47 and ran from officers attempting to arrest him, state police said.
Christian Harris, 42, was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 47 southbound at milepost 16 in Middle Township, Cape May County, at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, state police said in a Friday release.
Harris, of Pittsgrove in Salem County, exited the car and ran from officers, who apprehended him after a brief chase, police said.
A follow-up investigation found that Harris was under the influence and in possession of crack cocaine, police said.
