Irvington Man Hit 13-Year-Old Boy With Car, Fled Scene: Prosecutors
Odaniel Exmina, a 54-year-old Irvington resident, was arrested and charged after he hit a 13-year-old boy with his car and left the scene on Saturday, July 8, authorities said.
At 9:48 a.m., police responded to a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on the 1100 block of Grove Street, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers said. The boy was taken to University Hospital in Newark and is in critical condition, Stephens, II and Bowers said.

Three people have been charged in the shooting death of a man in Bayonne in July 2022, authorities said.
Mitchell Watson, 22, Hafis Jackson, 20, both Salem residents and Daynajah Payne, a 24-year-old Irvington resident were charged with the murder of Damoi Davauni Campbell, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

A days-long argument ended in a shooting this weekend in one Union County town, authorities said.
Jaime Tapia-Lobos, 33, of Irvington, had been arguing with his 35-year-old Vauxhall victim before the incident Saturday morning, June 24 in Summit, local police said.
Tapia-Lobos and two other men were standing on the sidewalk around 8:35 a.m., at 130 Park Ave., in Summit when the victim drove up, got out of his vehicle, and approached the group, authorities said.
