One person was critically injured in a chain-reaction seven-vehicle crash on Long Island.
State Police received a call for a vehicle collision in Suffolk County on the Robert Moses Causeway northbound on the main span, in town of Islip on Wednesday Aug. 5 at approximately 7:40 p.m.
Oscar A. Rios-Sosa, 30, of Brentwood, was driving a 2013 Mercedes on the northbound side when he failed to stop, as traffic was stopped, at which time he struck one vehicle from behind and caused six other vehicles to be struck, state police said.

Crime Stoppers and the New York State Police are offering up to $5,000 for help finding the person, or people, responsible for a recent shooting death on Long Island.
The murder of James Graham, 37, took place on Saturday, Dec. 14, in Freeport during the early morning hours, said the Nassau County Police.
Graham, who had been shot and killed, was discovered in the tree line of the Babylon Turnpike exit of the Meadowbrook Parkway, police said.
He had ties to Nassau County and Jamaica, Queens.

Three MS-13 Gang Members Charged In Fatal Stabbing Of 13-Year-Old
Three MS-13 members, already behind bars on other charges, have been indicted for the alleged knifing murder of a 13-year-old gang member in a Queens park.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, the United States Attorney’s office in Brooklyn charged Melvi Amador-Rios, 28, aka “Letal” and “Pinky”; Josue Leiva, 22, aka “Colocho”; and Luis Rivas, 24, aka “Inquieto,” both of Jamacia, Queens, with the May 2017 stabbing death of Julio Vasquez in Alley Pond Park.
The new charges include racketeering, murder, robbery, and firearms charges.

James Kerns, 48, Of Malverne, Popular Owner Of Bike Shop
James Kerns of Malverne, who was the popular owner of an area bike shop, died Sunday, July 14 at age 48.
James M. Kerns was the proprietor of Laurelton Cycle in Jamaica, Queens, established in 1928.
The shop in Springfield Gardens opened in the 1920s and was passed down through three generations in the Kerns family, according to a 2005 article in Times Ledger Newspapers
