First Dead Whale Of 2024 Washes Up Along Jersey Shore
A dead whale has washed up along the Jersey Shore for the first time in 2024, according to a marine animal rehabilitation center. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) received a report about a humpback whale found in the surf near 51st Street in Long Beach at around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 11. In a Facebook post, MMSC said the whale was estimated to be about 20 to 30 feet long. This whale is the first one MMSC has found dead along the Jersey Shore since Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023. Jersey Shore Gym Rallies To Help Woman Get New Prosthetic Leg: Campaign
A fitness group is rallying to help a Jersey Shore amputee get a new prosthetic leg, according to a fundraising campaign. AMP'D Fitness in Belmar is collecting money to support AmyMarie DeLuca, a woman who joined the gym at the end of 2023. A GoFundMe page raised more than $12,500 from at least 290 donations as of Friday, Mar. 29. AMP'D owner Max Gomez created the GoFundMe and also had his leg amputated. Man, Woman Found Dead In NJ
A man and woman were found dead on the Jersey Shore earlier this week. The bodies were found Tuesday morning, March 19 in Keyport, a spokesperson from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. He did not say where nor reveal further information. "This is an isolated incident and we would like to reiterate that there is no further threat to the public," Christopher Swendeman said. "The investigation is active and ongoing."

All of New Jersey and Greater Philadelphia are under a flood watch ahead of one big rain storm, or a combination of two different storms that will combine and head to the region this weekend. Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing At Jersey School Field: Police
A helicopter operated out of an Essex County facility made an emergency landing at a Jersey Shore school field Thursday, March 14, authorities said. The commercial passenger helicopter operated by Zip Aviation of Caldwell touched down on a baseball field behind Middletown High School North, adjacent to Marvin Road, Middletown police said. Four Inches Of Snow Forecasted Along Jersey Shore Overnight
Many parts of the Jersey Shore avoided the snow during a pre-Valentine's Day winter storm, but the coast doesn't appear to be dodging it this time. The National Weather Service said the Jersey Shore could see two to four inches of snow overnight and in the morning on Saturday, Feb. 17. All counties in South Jersey are under a winter weather advisory for the duration of the storm, with some winter storm warnings expected. Winter Storm Knocks Power To Thousands Of Jersey Shore Residents
A pre-Valentine's Day winter storm knocked out power for thousands of Jersey Shore customers. According to the outage map for Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), 4,019 customers in Monmouth County lost electricity as of 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The vast majority of those were in Ocean Township with 3,371 customers without power, which is nearly 25 percent of the township. At least 100 customers were without service in Middletown, Tinton Falls, Colts Neck, and Manalapan. JCP&L also said 24 customers lost power in Ocean County. Sixteen of those were in Toms River. …
