The death of Dalonte Lamont Jackson, the DC man whose family said he was left unconscious after a brutal Memorial Day weekend attack, has now officially been ruled a homicide.
Jackson, known to loved ones as "Boobie," died on Friday, May 29, after suffering severe injuries in an assault days earlier, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The 35-year-old Northeast DC resident was found unconscious but still breathing shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, when Sixth District officers responded to the 3300 block of East Capitol Street NE.

A pedestrian killed in a late-night crash on a busy roadway has been identified, Suffolk County police announced on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Elizabeth Jensen, 46, who was undomiciled, was struck and killed while in the roadway of Route 347 at Moriches Road in Lake Grove at about 10:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, according to police.
Jensen was hit by an eastbound 2023 Honda HR-V and was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, authorities said.

Son Charged With Murdering Mother Inside Family Home In Baltimore, Police Say
A 25-year-old Baltimore man is behind bars after being accused of killing his mother in their Western District home, police said.
Ajay Wiggins, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his mother, 64-year-old Joyce Gaskins, who was found unresponsive last month.
Authorities say that Gaskins was found shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 inside a home in the 1600 block of Druid Hill Avenue.
