With two recent calls for carbon monoxide gas incidents at homes, a Fairfield County fire department reminds residents to turn off their vehicles in the garage. The New Canaan Fire Department responded to two carbon monoxide (CO) gas incidents on Sunday, April 21, caused by cars left running in the garage. 3 Escape New Canaan House Fire Without Injury
Three people were able to escape a Fairfield County house fire without injury. The fire occurred in New Canaan on White Shade Oak Lane around 11:40 p.m., Monday, April 8. According to Jill Stayman with the New Canaan Fire Department, the fire started at the rear of the two-car garage and extended into the attic area above it. A Northern Westchester man has been accused of driving drunk in Fairfield County after police say he crossed the double-yellow line several times. At about 9 p.m. Saturday, April 6, an officer on routine patrol in New Canaan observed the vehicle traveling north on New Norwalk Road. A Fairfield County woman has been charged with allegedly driving under the influence of drugs after a vehicle crash. Patricia Pamela Petraglia, age 71, of New Canaan, was found sitting in a vehicle in the driveway of a Silvermine Road residence on Monday, March 4 after leaving a crash in Darien. According to Lt. New Canaan Man Charged With Cruelty To Animals
A Fairfield County man was charged with alleged animal cruelty after he was stopped by police on a warrant. Jack Hawkins, age 47, of New Canaan, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 7 on New Norwalk Road in New Canaan. According to Lt. Marc DeFelice, of the New Canaan Police, Hawkins was stopped for an active warrant in association with an animal call in January.
